Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the practice of purposely bringing one's attention to the present moment, becoming an observer of one’s thoughts and emotions without judgment. While mindfulness has its roots in meditation, it can be practiced through activities such as art-making.

Explore and Express Yourself

There is no "right" or "wrong" in mindful art. One need not be "good" at art to create mindful art. It's about the process, not the outcome.

MEET ERIN SCAIA

My goal is to change people's relationship with art, and in turn use art to change people's relationship with themselves.

Erin Scaia, mindful art facilitator

Mindful Art Facilitator

My love of art and mindfulness meditation led me to create Living by the Brush, a business which hosts mindful art classes for adults in the Columbus, Ohio area. I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from art-making regardless of skill level.  As a mindful art facilitator, I guide you through simple and fun creative processes, providing a safe space for you to practice mindfulness through art-making. My workshops and classes are an opportunity for you to explore, express and play through creativity.

While mindful art has some overlap with art therapy, it is not art therapy and I am not an art therapist. If you would like to use art for deeper psychological work then you may want to seek out a licensed art therapist.
